You’re likely familiar with photographs from Chris Jordan – dead seabirds, their bodies filled with plastic. ALBATROSS tells the story behind this world-famous photo project and leads its viewers to the remote Pacific Midway island and into the heart of this environmental tragedy. The film delivers an unexpectedly profound message of reverence, beauty and renewal which becomes a multi-layered metaphor for our time.
ALBATROSS was screened at the United Nations on World Oceans Day 2018 and given as a free artwork to the public. Since then, we have voluntarily organized 24 screenings of the film – 19 of which were part of a free screening tour.
Future Screenings
05.06.2020 ⋅ Club-Kino ⋅ USEDOM
For 2020, we plan a larger program with the intent of bringing the film and its message to a wider audience.
Greenpeace Germany support this project with their numerous local chapters, director and environmental activist Chris Jordan has announced his visit to Germany and to join our new tour.
Now we are looking for a third partner to support the project. If you’re interested or know of who might be, write us and let us know! We would be glad to present our plans to potential sponsors and to show them the film personally:
"In the heart of the great Pacific, a story is taking place that may change the way you see everything."
